A 36-year-old man was reportedly killed and two others injured, as trouble broke out on Tuesday in Faridpur town, Bareilly. This is the second incident of communal tension in four months in the district.
Some unidentified persons killed Prem Pal and injured two others at Mirdhan locality of the town.
As the rioters torched two trucks and some shops, a huge Police Armed Constabulary contingent was sent to quell the violence. Brij Lal, additional DGP, said two companies of Rapid Action Force had also been rushed to Bareilly.
P.P. Pal, sub-divisional magistrate of Faridpur, only confirmed that one seriously injured person had been rushed to New Delhi.
