Complaint filed against Ramdev in Maharashtra

india Updated: Dec 18, 2011 21:19 IST

Local Congress leaders have lodged a complaint against yoga guru Baba Ramdev alleging that booklets defaming party President Sonia Gandhi and general secretary Rahul Gandhi were circulated during his ongoing camp in Akola, police said on Sunday.

The complaint was filed on Saturday by city Congress chief Madan Bhargad, along with several others, who alleged that the 18-page booklet contained objectionable writings against Sonia and Rahul.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra in-charge of the Patanjali Yoga Peeth, founded by Ramdev, said that neither the yoga guru nor the trust had anything to do with the booklet. It is an attempt to defame Ramdev, he alleged.

Police are investigating further.

Ramdev's three-day yoga camp here began on Saturday.
