A 25-year-old compounder was found hanging from a tree at Chaura village in the district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Atam Prakash of Gharhi Khajoor village. He was working with a private clinic at Ghraunda and was missing since Tuesday evening.
Alleging foul play in the death, victim's family and a large number of villagers protested and blocked Ghraunda-Chaura road on Wednesday. The protesters were demanding a fair probe into the incident. Prakash's father Jai Bhagwan said that his son had a dispute with his employer doctor.
Meanwhile, the superintendent of police Shashank Anand, who visited the crime spot, assured villagers a thorough probe into the case. The SP told reporters that it was yet to established if it was a suicide or a murder.
He said that forensic experts had started investigations.
