Rao Uday Pratap Singh was on Friday made the Congress candidate from Hoshangabad from where Madhya Pradesh Congress president Suresh Pachauri was the prominent aspirant.

Singh’s name was announced for the seat by AICC after Pachauri left it to Congress president Sonia Gandhi to decide whether he should contest or oversee the party campaign in the state.

Singh is an MLA from one of the Assembly segments of the Hoshangabad Parliamentary constituency.
