Congress on Monday demanded a CBI inquiry into alleged donations the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) received for the two IPL matches at Dharamsala recently.
The party also sought a high-level inquiry into alleged benami transaction by the life members of the HPCA and others who have purchased land.
"Their sources of income should be probed by the income tax department," state Congress president Kaul Singh Thakur told reporters here.
While demanding a CBI enquiry into the funds and donations collected for two IPl matches, he said a "white paper should be issued on the accounts of the association with details of all the donations for the cricketing event."
About allegations of certain irregularities in the Mandi Cricket Association during his tenure, he said he preferred a CBI inquiry into the charges levelled by HPCA president Anurag Thakur in a BJP rally on Sunday.
