Congress on Wednesday justified the Government's action in rejecting the findings of the Mukherjee Commission on disappearance of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The Committee has inferred that he did not die in any plane crash in 1945 and the ashes in Renkoji Temple in Japan were not of that of Netaji.

Government told the Lok Sabha that it did not agree with the findings.

Party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters that the Government is legally empowered to accept, partially accept or reject such a report. "It is the exclusive competence of Government", he said.
