Atul Saxena, the SP-Rural Varanasi, told PTI that four people were killed when their car (Tata Safari) collided with a bus in Chaiti village.
He said Hemant Tyagi, the Congress National Secretary hailing from Uttarakhand, Babloo Pandey, brother of Bhola Pandey--the Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Salempur in Eastern UP and Sanjay, the driver, died on the spot while the fourth person killed in the accident has not yet been identified.
Several passengers of the bus also received minor injuries, Saxena said, adding the injured have been admitted to the local hospital.
