Allegations of malpractices in the distribution of flood relief to victims of devastation, caused by swollen river Krishna in the first week of this month, rocked the meeting of the Guntur District Development Review Committee in Guntur on Saturday.

Opposition's TDP MLAs alleged that the ruling Congress MLAs amassed wealth by 'pocketing' the flood relief fund. The TDP MLAs who levelled allegations included P Pulla Rao (Chilakaluripet), D Narendra (Ponnur) and N Anand Babu (Vemuru).

Ministers-K Lakshmi Narayana and M V Ramana Rao denied the charges and advised the Opposition not to derive political mileage from the natural calamity.
