The ruling Congress on Tuesday released the second list of seven candidates, which contains the names of three kin of party ministers, for the March 3 Assembly elections in Goa.
The party has given ticket to home minister Ravi Naik's son Reitesh (Madkai constituency), while public works department minister Churchill Alemao's daughter Valanka will contest from Benaulim segment. The list was released in Panaji.
Jeniffer, wife of education minister Atanasio Monserratte, will be the Congress candidate from Taleigao, currently represented by her husband.
The party has shifted Monserratte to St Cruz, dropping Victoria Fernandes, the only woman legislator in the 40-member House.
The party has also cleared the candidature of two sitting legislators – Pandurang Madkaikar (Cumbharjua) and Aleixo Lourenco Reginaldo (Curtorim). Interestingly, Madkaikar's brother Dhaku has been fielded from Priol seat.
Congress, contesting 33 out of 40 seats as per its pre -poll alliance with NCP, had declared the first list of 22 candidates on Saturday.
The declaration of nominees for four crucial seats -Canacona, Mormugao, Fatorda and Sanvordem - is pending.
