Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee working president Mohinder Singh Kaypee has asked the Election Commission to deploy Central security forces for the Lok Sabha elections in the state.

Disclosing this to mediapersons at the ‘antim ardas’ ceremony of PCC general secretary Parminder Singh Pinki’s mother at Saragarhi gurdwara, Kaypee said the SAD-BJP government should immediately release a white paper on the state’s economic condition. He said the policies of the state government had plunged Punjab into an economic crisis.

Kaypee asked the BJP to clarify its stand on the Anandpur Sahib resolution, which had been dubbed as “communal” by party leader LK Advani.

Leader of the Opposition Rajinder Kaur Bhattal claimed that the Congress would win all the parliamentary seats in Punjab.

Former Congress ministers Lal Singh, Surinder Singla, Avtar Brar and Hans Raj Jossan, former MP Jagmeet Singh Brar and MLAs Rana Gurmit Sodhi, Raj Kumar Verka and Sunil Dutti also paid homage to the departed soul.
