Cong stages mock honour

THE CONGRESS today staged a mock felicitation of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the Regal Crossing in the afternoon, hours before the public felicitation function.

The Chief Minister is being felicitated after a survey by Indian Today ranked Madhya Pradesh as the ‘Fastest Developing’ State.

The highlight of the drama was City Congress president Pramod Tandon dressing up as PWD Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, complete with the long hair that the minister now sports. Most of the senior Congress leaders were also on the dias representing the important ministers of the Cabinet.

While one leader listed out the allegations against the ministers, the Congress leader playing the part of the minister gave ‘reply’. The Congress faithfuls who had gathered at the Regal Crossing had a gala time as their leaders substantiated the allegation levelled against the ministers though their mock confessions.

While Tandon played Vijayvargiya (‘Lok Bhrastachar Mantri’), his acolyte ity BJP president Ramesh Mendola’s (‘Ramesh Pensiondhari’) part was played by City Youth Congress president Devendra Yadav. The Chief Minister, who is being labeled as ‘Aparadh Singh Chauhan’, was played by former IDA chairman Kripa Shankar Shukla.

The drama continued over two hours and created a mini-traffic jam in the Regal Crossing as passersby stopped their vehicles to see the ongoing drama.
