The Congress has violated the model code of conducted during the election campaign of party president Sonia Gandhi at Ghatsila, Jharkhand BJP president Raghuvar Das alleged on Thursday.
Das, who visited Ghatsila yesterday, told newsmen here that hundreds of flags and cutouts of senior Congress leaders had been put up for Gandhi's poll meeting in violation of the code.
Besides, the party had been distributing saris to lure poor voters to vote for its candidate and Jharkhand PCC president Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu, who is seeking re-election for the fourth time from the seat.
Das said he would take up the issue with the Election Commission soon.
''The Congress, RJD and JMM are desperate to win the election by any means and are spending huge money that was looted during the 23-month rule by Madhu Koda's UPA government,'' he alleged.
Referring the Rs 4000 crores money laundering scam involving Koda, he said these parties were now trying to save their skins and appealed to Prime Minister to order for probe against the leaders whose names were found in the former chief minister's diary.
