Former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin is among the 14 candidates announced by the Congress on Friday for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Mohammad Azharuddin will contest from Moradabad in western Uttar Pradesh.

Former BSP MP Ramesh Dubey, who deserted Mayawati to join the Congress last week, will contest from Mirzapur.

Notice to Kidwai

Meanwhile, the Election Commission served a notice on Congress Minority Cell chief Imraan Kidwai for making certain inflammatory statement at an election meeting in Chandigarh on March 15. He has been charged under the same sections as Varun Gandhi.
