Congress on Wednesday steered clear of the controversy over sacking of AIIMS Director P Venugopal by the Institute's apex body headed by Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss which has sparked off a strike by resident doctors of the premier healthcare facility in New Delhi.
"It is a matter between the Health Ministry and the Institute. There is no need for any political party to comment. It should not be politicised", party spokesman Rajeev Shukla told reporters.
When told that the sacking has led to a strike in the institute, Shukla said that Government was capable of grappling with the situation.
