Four men shot at a constable in Manesar area on the wee hours of Thursday. The victim was admitted to Paras Hospital.

While constable Yogendera, 31, and constable Ranjeet Singh were patrolling at 1.45am, a Maruti car was seen driving on the wrong side of National Highway 8. The two policemen stopped the car and asked the occupants for documents.

“They had no documents, so the constables decided to take them to the police station,” said Pala Ram, DCP (south), Gurgaon.

“Yogendera sat in the car while Ranjeet followed him on the police motorcycle. Suddenly, the car accelerated and the occupants shot Yogender, before pushing him out of the vehicle near NSG complex, Manaser,” said Ram.

According to police, Yogendera could identify only the driver. “A police team is preparing the sketch of the accused based on details given by Yogendra,” said Ram. Police have registered a case.
