Some villagers noticed the body in the jungle on which a hand-written poster in red ink was pasted.
A petty contractor was shot dead allegedly by Maoists in Basadera jungle in Jharkhand's Ghatsila sub-division, police sources said on Tuesday.
38-year-old Dhiren Mahto, a petty timber contractor, had left his home on Sunday for Ghatsila but did not return.

However, some villagers noticed the body in the jungle on which a hand-written poster in red ink was pasted, sources said.
In the poster, the Maoists had owned the responsibility for killing Mahato on Monday for being a police informer, sources added.
