A few men in Mumbai are getting ready to don the chef’s hat and learn to cook. He-Cooks! Classes, a first of its kind, will be conducted by Rushina Munshaw Ghildiyal, a celebrated cooking trainer. The idea is to train men to cook simple yet delicious food.
Majority of the families in Mumbai are nuclear. A lot of compromises over food occur in such families. Most bachelors usually eat food from outside, which is neither healthy nor nutritious. These classes are for men who wish to learn how to cook. The participants will learn to cook potato, chicken and pasta (two dishes from each category). They will also learn the nuances of basic and quick cooking.Ghildiyal is excited, as this is the first time she is conducting cooking classes for men. "It will be nice to watch how people react to this event, as this is the first of its kind," she says. She is happy with the positive response which she got from the participants. It will help her and the organisers to assess the level of cooking skills of those who are participating in the event, and help lay the benchmark for the future.
