Here are snapshots of quirky and cool happenings from the world of food...
Splurge on Sushi
On June 28, Filipino chef Angelito Araneta Jr. created sushi garnished with 20-carat African diamonds and wrapped with 24-karat gold leaves in a restaurant in Manila. The five pieces of sushi are worth 91,800 pesos ($1,996). The chef said that his unusual food artworks are used as gifts in marriage proposals or during courtship.
Hollywood A-listers Jude Law and Sienna Miller decided to give gourmet cuisine a miss and instead ate at a kebab take-away during a recent night-out. The couple ate at a small Indian eatery in Camden after watching the alternative rockers The Dead Weather perform at the iTunes festival in London, UK, reported Daily Mail online. The actress, who looked chic in wedged gladiator sandals, suede shorts and a cropped blue top, went home with Law in a taxi after the meal.
