'Cop' cheats porn CD maker!

The Delhi police have arrested a man, working as a detective with a private agency for impersonation, extortion and cheating.

Police said, Rajeev was nabbed when he approached a pirated video CD manufacturer for collecting money. Pirated VCD manufacturer Rajneesh Gupta is already facing trial under Intellectual property right. Rajeev posing as a crime branch officer had approached him to pay him bribe else he would book him in similar case.

According to police, Rajeev was working with a private detective agency that had been assigned the job of finding source of supply of pirated Bollywood movies by some film producer.

Rajeev and his detective company dug out that it was Rajneesh Gupta of Usmanpur, who was manufacturing pirated CDs of the movie. Subsequently the detective agency informed the police and a raid was conducted. Police, apart from pirated VCD's of movies, recovered some porno CDs and subsequently a case was registered against Rajneesh.

Some time back, Rajeev left his job. He decided to make money on a regular basis from Rajneesh. Since Rajeev had the telephone numbers of Rajneesh, he called him and demanded that the guy pay him Rs 10,000 per month as protection money.

He had introduced himself as an officer of the crime branch, Delhi police. Rajneesh invited him to his office. Rajeev approached him in a Gypsy on which Delhi police was written. He was carrying a Delhi police key chain too.

Rajeev flaunted an Identity Card, similar to that of a Delhi cop and both sat on a negotiation table. Rajeev demanded Rs 10,000 per month from him as protection money. However, the amount was fixed for Rs 5,000.

After Rajeev left, Rajneesh became suspicious as he thought that no police officer would agree for such a meager amount. Rajeev looks even added to his suspicion as he never looked like a police officer.

Thereafter, he informed the local police and a trap was laid. Eventually, Rajeev was nabbed for minting money by posing as an officer.
