Six copies of 'Guru Granth Saheb', religious book of Sikhs, were burnt in a fire which broke out in a gurdwara in Fatehgarh Sahib, police said on Sunday.

The fire, triggered due to electric short-circuit, broke out at Gurdwara Chavi Patshahi last night, they said.

Out of the seven copies of the 'Guru Granth Saheb' kept in a room, six were burnt, they said.

Meanwhile, the Gurdwara management committee has decided to observe 'Akhand Path' on Sunday as part of rituals to repent the burning of the revered epic.
