Highlight Story

Three girls of Madarsa Jamait-Us-Salehat were allegedly gang raped by half-a-dozen policemen. The victims were reportedly dragged from inside the institute.

The Madarsa is owned by Waliuulah, an accused in the Varanasi serial blasts case. The institute comes under the Kareli police station in Allahabad. The madrasa is an all-girl institution

Police authorities at the office of the Director General of Police of Lucknow informed, it is still not clear whether the culprits were actually policemen or were disguised as cops. Cops, if found guilty, would be punished severely.

Interestingly, police not only refused to register the case but also threatened the kins of the girls with dire consequences. This further accentuates the chances of perpetrators being cops themselves.

Also, when the madrasa staff went to lodge FIR they were abused and shown the door.

The girls were also reportedly brutally beaten.

It is learnt that the gate in-charge Abdul Haqat first refused to open the gate of the institution. But the assailants banged the doors and threatened to break it if the gate was not opened.

Haq thereafter opened the gate and was immediately overpowered by the criminals.

The girls were released after several hours. Victims informed that they were stripped, beaten up and gang raped.

It was only when madarsa contacted the Local Intelligence Unit, the local police was compelled to register the FIR.

The victims were reportedly forced to leave the madarsa allegedly on police advice.
