A 13-year-old girl accused of murdering the five-year-old son of her alleged rapist in Uttar Pradesh’s Khair town was sent to a children’s home in Ghaziabad on Friday after medical tests.
The teenager allegedly beheaded the boy, brutally crushed the body with bricks before packing it into a polythene bag and setting it on fire on Tuesday evening. She then buried the half-burnt body but dogs dug out the packet and were seen dragging the remains on a street on Wednesday.
“The girl has been sent to the Mahila-Bal Sudhar Griha in Ghaziabad. All available legal channels such as narco-analysis, lie detector and medical tests would be followed to ascertain if she was raped. If rape is confirmed on the basis of evidence, action would be taken against the accused,” said Khair circle officer OP Singh.
Police have registered a case of murder against the girl and slapped rape charges on the boy’s father.
Around 200 villagers met Singh on Friday and alleged that the girl was a drug addict and falsely accusing the boy’s father, a labourer, of rape. Villagers carrying the boy’s body blocked roads in protest, prompting police to register a case against them.
The man and his family alleged that the rape accusation was a police conspiracy while the murder was part of a tantric ritual.
Before she was taken to Ghaziabad, the girl again accused the man of raping her on Sunday and confessed to have killed his son as she sought revenge, a police officer said.
