‘THE COUNTDOWN to oust Samajwadi Party-led government would begin with forthcoming civic body elections across the State,” said Congress district president Harish Chandra Singh.
Talking to mediapersons here in Varanasi on Saturday, Singh said that common public was looking towards the Congress to root out the SP-led government in the State.
“The Congress will get unexpected success in the civic body elections in Varanasi,” he claimed. The common public has been completely disappointed with the State government as there was no sense of security among the masses while farmers were facing a lot of problems due to inadequate power supply and lack of manure.
Singh said that the names of candidates of civic body elections in Varanasi Nagar Nigam, Gangapur Nagar Panchayat and Ramnagar Palika would be declared before October 4. He said that the names of candidates for the post of chairman in Gangapur Nagar Panchayat and Ramnagar Palika would be declared by UPCC.
“There are six applicants for the post of Mayor in Varanasi Nagar Nigam while 4 and 6 applicants have shown their interests to get tickets for the post of Gangapur Nagar Panchayat’s chairman and Ramnagar Palika’s chairman,” he said.
