Couple kill drunkard son

Sixty-five-year old Yashwant Maruti Pawar and wife Shantabai allegedly killed their 23-year-old son Vishwas at Madrasi Pada near Ulhasnagar railway station, Ulhasnagar (E) who was constantly harassing them after getting drunk.
The police have arrested both on charges of murder.
In her statement to the police, one of the accused, Shantabai finally confessed saying that her son Vishwas was unemployed and a drug addict and alcoholic.
However, even then they were looking after him. But a few days back, Vishwas in a drunken state, allegedly tried to act physical with her mother and sister.
Shantabai also mentioned that it was during that night that she had made up her mind to kill him and just waited for the right opportunity.
Finally, two days later, he came home drunk at night when her husband caught his son by his feet and she strangled her with a nylon rope.
The police said that Shantabai had initially tried to mislead them saying that their son had gone out after the family had dinner together.
When she woke up the next morning, she woke up early and found his dead body and thought some unknown person had killed him and thrown his body outside the house.
However, she confessed to the crime later on, during investigation.
Police inspector Vijay Kadam, senior police inspector, Vithalwadi police station said, "We got a call that there was a dead body lying in Madrasi pada. When our team rushed to the spot, they saw that the parents were sitting beside the son's dead body." The police have done the panchnama and sent the body for an autopsy.
The police have registered the case under IPC 302, 34. Kadam also said that during investigation, they had got information that the murder was committed by someone from the same locality.
So, later, when the police again interrogated the parents, the mother confessed to the police of having killed the son.
