Additional District and Sessions Judge A S Choudhary ordered life sentence to Ashok Kumar Mondal and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him after he was convicted of murdering four-year old Nitish Kumar on April 29, 1997. The court, however, acquitted two accused Pramod Mandal and Subodh Mandal for want of evidence.
