Court awards life imprisonment for killing little child
A fast track court awarded life imprisonment to a person for murdering a four-year old child.
A fast track court on Monday awarded life imprisonment to a person for murdering a four-year old but acquitted two others in Banka district of Bihar.
Additional District and Sessions Judge A S Choudhary ordered life sentence to Ashok Kumar Mondal and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him after he was convicted of murdering four-year old Nitish Kumar on April 29, 1997. The court, however, acquitted two accused Pramod Mandal and Subodh Mandal for want of evidence. As per the prosecution, relations soured between Mandal and the boy's father over the construction of a boundary wall with the former threatening to eliminate the innocent boy.
After the child went missing, police recovered the body from Mandal's house and arrested him.
