Ruling Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament from Ghosi in Mau district Chanderdev Prasad Rajbhar landed in trouble as the local court in Mau has summoned him on charges of threatening his wife.
Reports said Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate YR Gupta on Thursday summoned the MP and directed him to appear before the court on May 28. Sources said the court direction came following a complaint submitted by the MP's wife Sharda Devi and his son Pranav Nath and daughter in law Anita that the MP used to harass them.
Sharda Devi, the MP's wife has alleged in the complaint that her husband had kidnapped a 22-year-old girl and wanted to marry her. She said since she opposed the marriage, her husband threw her out of the house a few days ago and continues to harass her.
Sources said the complaint mentioned that the MP had threatened to kill the entire family with his revolver. On the basis of the complaint submitted before the court, the complainant had stated that the police did not take action against the MP even after intimating the senior police officers about the harassment meted out at the hands of her MP husband.
Sources said the court took cognisance of the matter after hearing the statements of the MP's son Pranavnath Prasad and daughter-in-law Anita and issued summons against Rajbhar.
