A Gurgaon court will hear on Wednesday the bail application filed by Raghuraj Puri, the father of main accused Shivraj Puri, and Rajendra Chand arrested for role in the R405-crore Citibank fraud case.
Earlier, the city court had rejected the bail plea of both and sent them to a 14-day judicial custody till April 22.
"We have received the notice from the court regarding the bail application of Raghuraj Puri and Rajender Chand. We will file their detailed reply to the bail application and will advance their argument before the court on Wednesday. The hearing will be done at the additional sessions' judge Vimal Kumar's court. It is the same court which had earlier dismissed the bail application of two other co-accused Sanjay Gupta and Gaurav Jain," said Harish Malhotra, Citibank lawyer.
"The police have not filed the chargesheet against these accused as yet," he added.
Raghuraj was managing director of Normans Martin Brokers Private Limited and Chand was the director of the brokerage firm. Raghuraj applied for bail on medical grounds while Chand argued he was the sole earner of his family and there was no one to look after his 92-year-old mother. The court rejected their appeal and sent them to the judicial custody.
