A crack on the cockpit windscreen of a Mumbai-bound Air India flight carrying 128 passengers and crew was detected minutes before it was to take off from here, official sources said.
"All the 122 passengers and six crew members are safe as the fault was detected in the flight before announcement of departure," Station Manager of Biju Patnaik Airport Abhijit Sengupta told PTI.
The flight IC-169 operating between Mumbai and Raipur had landed at the city airport to take passengers from here.
The crack on the windscreen in the cockpit area was detected during routine inspection before take off, Sengupta said.
