The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday expelled its former president Jagmohan Dalmiya on charges of financial irregularities
The accusations
Once credited with filling up the BCCI coffers with his marketing strategies, Dalmiya was accused of misappropriating funds during the 1996 World Cup
The accusers
The special general body of the BCCI expelled him with a vote of 29-2. The meeting was presided over by BCCI chief Sharad Pawar, whom Dalmiya battled for control of the board
What now
Dalmiya is in cricket wilderness for now and can appeal for his inclusion in the BCCI only after three years
