Criminals dupe SUV driver, decamp with Rs 23 lakh in cash

Two conmen tricked the driver of a Toyota Fortuner car of R23 lakh in the Manesar area on Monday night.

According to police, Vinod Kumar, a contractor and a resident of Sector 9, was going to Manesar by his car to give payments to workers. On his way to his office, he went to meet his friend.

He left his briefcase with cash of R23 lakh in the vehicle in which the driver was also sitting.

Two young men approached the driver and told him that one of the tyres was flat. As the driver got down from the vehicle, the duo picked up the briefcase and fled from the spot.

In a separate incident, a person was killed after being hit by a train at Gurgaon railway station on Monday night. According to police, Phool Kumar, a resident of Delhi, died on the spot.

The incident took place at 10:30pm.
