Hollywood star Russell Crowe is geared up to play the character of Robert McCall in a movie adaptation of The Equalizer.
The Australian actor is all set up to portray the role of Robert McCall, a character that had made actor British actor Edward Woodward rose to stardom, The Los Angeles Times reported.
The movie is a remake of the 1980’s crime series The Equalizer, that tells the story of McCall, a secret agent of an unnamed organisation, who helps people get through the crimes, by being their ‘troubleshooter’.
Although the story line of the remake of the series is still not ready, the film joins the number of 80s classics that are currently being remade in Hollywood, with both The A-Team and Karate Kid hitting the bull’s eye at the box office.
The film will be directed by David Von Ancken and is due for 2011 release.
