CRPF constable guns down senior commandant in Jammu

A constable of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) shot dead his deputy commandant at Jammu airport late on Saturday, police said.

A CRPF trooper opened fire on his Deputy Commandant at Jammu airport on Saturday evening stirring a panic all around .

The Deputy Commandant Nabal Singh was shot dead after heated exchanges between him and Havildar late Saturday evening .

The arguments turned volatile and havildar opened fire from his service rifle and shot his officer.
The officer belonged to 150 battalion of CRPF to Harayana. Further details about him are not immediately known.
The havildar was overpowered by his colleagues. He has been handed over to police for investigations.

Police said that the havildar has been arrested. " his questioning is going on," according to Inspector general of Police Sheesh Paul Vaid .

He said that it was not immediately known as to what caused the problem that led to such an extreme step by the trooper.

This is second such incident in the past one year. A CRPF trooper had shot dead three of his senior colleagues at the residence of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in February last year.
