Four persons, including a CRPF jawan, were injured in a grenade attack by terrorists in Doda district while six Over Ground Workers (OGW) were arrested in Udhampur, official sources said in Jammu on Monday.
Some unidentified terrorists lobbed a grenade at a bus stand at Kishtwar town of Doda district on Sunday night injuring three civilians and a CRPF jawan, they said.
The injured were admitted to the Kishtwar sub-district hospital where their condition is stated to be stable, the sources said adding, however, no one has been apprehended so far in connection with the attack.
Security forces also apprehended six OGWs of militants in Deol Peda area of Mahore tehsil in Udhampur district.
The OGWs, identified as Sikandar Nag, Nanda Dandi, Abdul Rehman, Mohammad Farooq, Abdul Jaffar and Abdul Rashid Bhat, were later handed over to police for further investigation, the sources said.
Meanwhile, security forces during a search operation recovered 15 kg of explosives from a natural cave in Muri forest of Surankote tehsil in Poonch district, they said.
Terrorists also snatched a 303 rifle along with eight rounds from a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member at Batoi village in Mahiore tehsil of Udhampur district.
However, police suspect foul play in the snatching of the rifle and have detained four persons in this connection, the sources said.
