ALL-INDIA Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary V Narayansamy today claimed the Election Commission had conceded to his party’s demand for the deployment of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and video shooting of proceedings at voting booths in Budhni.

Addressing a press conference here, Narayansamy said he along with State Congress chief Subhash Yadav had requested the Election Commission to this effect and it had accepted. He further said the Congress had identified 100 sensitive booths in Budhni where rigging could take place.

While claiming party candidate Rajkumar Patel would win the election against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Narayansamy said the Congress had decided upon an aggressive campaigning strategy and local issues would be highlighted in the party campaign.

He further said a battery of senior party leaders including Digvijay Singh, Kamalnath, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kantilal Bhuria would be in the forefront of the party campaign at Budhni. Besides, several senior leaders including former MPs and MLAs had been assigned different responsibilities in the constituency.

He reiterated his party’s allegation of misuse of Government’s resources at Budhni and violation of Model Code of Conduct by the Chief Minister including announcement of Rs 300 crore projects for Budhni constituency.
