Curfew was lifted today from Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore town, which witnessed mob violence last week, following an improvement in the situation.
The curfew, imposed in parts of Sopore last Saturday and then extended to the entire town on Monday, was withdrawn from 6pm, official sources said.
As soon as curfew was lifted, life in the town returned to normal fast as people went about buying essential commodities and vehicles were back on the roads.
However, security forces are keeping a strict watch on the situation.
Senior ministers of the state are also camping in the town.
