After remaining under curfew for a week, normalcy has returned to Khandwa.

However, as a precautionary measure, Section 144 has been imposed in the city till the next orders are given. Police too would be patrolling in the city continuously. Over 800 armed police cops and paramilitary forces took out a flag march in the market after curfew was lifted on Thursday.

Khandwa assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Gopal Khandel told HT that through this flag march, a message had been conveyed to the anti-social elements that nobody would be allowed to disrupt law and order situation here. If anyone does so, he/she would be dealt with strictly, he added.
