After four days of restrictions following communal clashes in the region, the administration relaxed Curfew in Jammu from 5 pm to 7pm on Tuesday.

Curfew was also relaxed in Kathua, Samba, Reasi, Udhampur and some other areas of the region.

Deputy commissioner Ajit Kumar Sahu informed, “The curfew was relaxed in entire Jammu district from 5pm to 7pm today”.

When asked about relaxation schedule for Wednesday, Sahu said, “Curfew would be relaxed tomorrow only after reviewing the situation of today’s relaxation”.

Curfew was imposed in Kishtwar and other districts on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday after communal clashes claimed three lives.

However, the army remained deployed in curfew-bound Kishtwar and seven other districts of Jammu region, namely Rajouri, Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Reasi, Udhampur and Doda.
