Curfew was relaxed for varied periods in Kulgam and Budgam districts on Saturday even as remaining eight districts of the Valley remained under strict restrictions for the seventh day.
Curfew was relaxed for 14 hours in Kulgam district, excluding Kulgam and Khudwani towns, from 8 am Saturday morning while it was eased for three hours in Budgam district from 9 am, an official spokesman said.
Kulgam's Deputy Commissioner Lateef-e-Zeman has asked government employees especially teachers and paramedical staff of public health centres of the district to report to work.
However, curfew remained clamped on 8 other districts of the Valley, including Srinagar, Anantnag, Pulwama, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Shopian, without relaxation for the seventh consecutive day on Saturday.
Meanwhile, curfew in Srinagar was eased in the areas falling under 28 police stations of the city for two hours from 11 am, a police spokesman said.
Barring areas falling under five police stations of Khanyar, Rainwari, Nowhatta, MR Gunj and Safakadal, curfew has been relaxed from 11 am to 1 pm, the spokesman added.
