Residents can take a close look at some hi-tech mobile machines, super cars and bikes as the Millennium City will host the first Lux Mobiles Soiree on August 28.
The event to be held near the Leisure Valley Park will be hosted jointly by Deepak Kapoor, an automotive enthusiast, Expats India and La Cabana Restro Bar.
Some of the car models likely to be displayed include Hummer, Bentley, Mercedes and some custom-made limousines, while the bikes include Kawasaki's Ninja, Suzuki's Hayabusa, Italian Ducati and Harley-Davidson.
Many enthusiasts, who hail from Delhi and NCR towns, have given new looks to their rolling machines.
“The event, which is taking place for the first time in Gurgaon, will display around 30 super bikes and cars. It will also witness some foreign automotive enthusiasts and celebrities. We have decided to make this event a regular feature in Gurgaon,” said Kapoor.
One of the major participants is the Group of Delhi Superbikers (GODS), whose members are professionals.
Dr Arun Thareja, 49, founder of GODS, owns three super bikes — Honda Fire Blood, Kawasaki Ninja and Suzuki B-King. Every Sunday, Dr Thareja goes on long trips with his 25-30 team mates.
“Our members include pilots, CEOs of various firms and financial experts. We will display 20-30 super bikes. The visitors will get a chance to take a close look at these machines. We will also reply to visitors' queries,” he said.
