The organising committee of the 24th State Games 2010 in Faridabad said they hope winners of the recently concluded Commonwealth Games in Delhi would participate in the event.

"Some international players including some winners from Haryana like Krishna Poonia are expected to participate in the state games," PV Rathee, president of the Haryana Olympic Association, the organizer of state games, said during a press conference on Thursday. Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would be inaugurating the mega sporting event at a special function here on Friday.

"We request the people of Faridabad to come and watch the games," said Rathee, who is also director general of CID, Haryana.

In all, 29 games will be played in the state level championships during the four days Haryana's biggest sports event in Faridabad at four stadiums.
