In a major breakthrough, six Maoists — including their local commander Warse Lakhma — were arrested on Monday by Dantewada Police in Chhattisgarh in connection with the April 6 massacre of 76 security personnel.

During interrogation, the police said, the arrested Maoist commander revealed that the attack on the Central Reserve Police Force was planned only after the rebels found a wireless set a patrol party of the paramilitary force had lost a couple of days earlier.

Dantewada Superintendent of Police Amresh Mishra said the interrogation would continue on Tuesday so that they could get more information on the Maoist attack — considered the most brutal in the entire country till date.
