Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi on Saturday parried questions on the Left's threat of withdrawal of support to the government over the Indo-US nuclear deal and said the government's priority was to ensure the passage of Union Budget in Parliament.
Asked whether the Left threat posed a danger to the stability of the UPA government, Dasmunsi told reporters "the budget session is going on. The budget has to be passed."
Dasmunsi said the interests of peasants depended on the passing of the budget. "After the passage of the budget we have to watch in what way things move."
He said after the passage of the budget the government and the Left-UPA coordination committee would discuss the nuclear deal.
