Completion dates for four flyovers at major railway crossings in Ghaziabad have been finalised in a meeting between officials of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), railways and construction agency UP State Bridge Corporation (UPSBC).
The opening dates of the flyovers have now been moved from May this year to January, 2013.
The four flyovers under construction are at Dasna near NH-24 (4 lanes, Rs 46 crore), Vivekanand Nagar (4 lanes near Kavi Nagar Industrial area, Rs 38 crore), Nehru Nagar (4 lane, Rs 34 crore) and Murad Nagar (2 lanes, Rs 18 crore).
UPSBC officials said the entire work was reviewed at the meeting at the GDA. All four flyovers are being constructed over the major railway crossing to decongest traffic movement in the city.
After the discussions, Dasna and Nehru Nagar flyovers were finalised to be thrown open for operations by January, 2013. The other two flyovers at Vivekanand Nagar and Murad Nagar were scheduled for opening by end of May and August, respectively.
"There were several delays on part of other agencies. We have now decided to remove bottlenecks and expedite the work," said UPSBC deputy project manager Praveen Kumar.
