Now golf lovers can relish the game without facing the stroke of scorching sun during summer as various clubs in the city are offering the option of ‘night golfing’.
Spread across 142 acres in the lap of Aravali Hills, the 18-hole DLF Golf and Country Club is one of the favourite spots for residents after sunset.
The club designed by Arnold (King) Palmer has five mini lakes. Besides, several other golf clubs such as Golden Greens, Unitech's Karma Lake and Classic Golf Club have also been offering the facility of night golfing.
The facility has become a boon for those who find it hard to spare time for their favourite sport from their busy schedule.
“We wanted to offer the best to our members and this night golfing club is a step in that direction. The golf course is open only for members but their guests are also welcome. The decision to start night golfing was taken due to rise in day temperature and also considering the busy schedule of people who do not get time to relax. We thought something of this sort should be there and we are ready with this for our members,” said Akash Ohri, the director of DLF Golf and Country Club.
The club has nearly 200 floodlights. It is open on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The facility will be available between April and December only.
Monica Jojoo, a homemaker, said: “Night golfing is a boon especially in summers when you cannot think of stepping out. The nights are cool and one can enjoy the time with family.”
