To tackle flash floods in monsoon, the district development commissioner, Udhampur Yasha Mudgal convened a meeting with senior officers of civil and army at conference hall here on Wednesday.

A comprehensive plan was chalked out so that there was little loss of life and property during the monsoon. The DDC outlined the importance of inter-departmental coordination in dealing with any emergency. She urged the officials of the flood control department to keep a tab on the level of rivers and nallahs.

Mudgal asked the representatives of Army, BRTF, AFCONS and Leighton company to help the district administration during any exigency, while services of police and army jawans, besides volunteers of civil defence, would be sought as per need.

A control room has already been set up at district police line, Udhampur, under the supervision of senior superintendent of police, where people can seek help through phone (01992-276915).
