A man, declared dead by the police, is being hounded as a ghost by his own superstitious family!

In official documents, Munna lal Yadav is a dead man who died in a road accident on June 22, 2005 in Punjab. He is a native of Hasena locality in Kanpur.

After listening to Munna's tale of woe, Deputy Inspector General of police Kanpur Range Daljeet Chowdhury has ordered an inquiry.

Munna had left Kanpur in search of a job in Nagpur before Holi. His friends in Nagpur had told him that they would arrange a decent job for him but they failed. Later, he left for Madhya Pradesh and then Punjab.

When he did not return for quite sometime nor made any telephone calls, his folks approached the police and they were told after investigations that Munna lal Yadav had died in a road accident in Punjab.

Presuming him to be dead his family members wept bitterly and then performed his "Kriya Karma and Daswaan (Tenth day ritual) and also the 13th day rituals.

Sometime ago, before leaving for Kanpur Munna Lal spoke to his wife Vimla on phone but the superstitious woman thought that her husband's ghost had called her. She screamed: "Munna ke bhoot ne mujhe phone kiya hai" and fainted.

Not even his grown up sons Vijay (20) and Ajay (18) were prepared to believe that their father's death message could be a mistake. They thought that now their father's ghost is troubling the family.

To make matters worse, his sister also agreed with other family members.

A hapless and harried Munna Lal informed his wife that he would be arriving in Kanpur soon and she could see him personally. But out of fear, the wife left for her father's place in Madhya Pradesh along with the sons.
