It has happened to us all at one time or another. We’ve logged on to a website to book a flight or a bus ticket, only to realise that our friend got an additional Rs 200 off on the same ticket on an another portal. But now, the best deals on flights, trains, hotels and buses can be available at your fingertips with www.comparemyticket.com.
The website, that went live in September this year, allows smart travellers to compare the prices of tickets and hotel rates across several travel portals like MakeMyTrip, Expedia, Yatra, Jet Konnect and ClearTrip among others, and get the best offers available in the virtual world. “We came up with the idea for the website after we noticed that there is a slight variation in prices across these portals and you often don’t have the time to log on to them individually to find the best deal out there,” says Preet Dave, a mechanical engineer in Vadodara, who is the founder of the website.
The website does not need any registrations and the service is free. Once you choose the best deal available, you are directed to that concerned website for payments. “We initially started with only flight bookings but then went on to add hotels, buses and trains to the mix so that our portal becomes a one-stop destination for travellers,” says Dave. The website, since it commenced operations, has already registered 13,000 hits. And though the website is still in a nascent stage, there are plans to come out with an app as well. “But even right now, people with the Internet on their phone will be able to access the page and use it. It is compatible with almost all operating systems,” says Dave.
As a new feature, the website also offers a coupon section to ensure that travellers can benefit from the deals that individual portals offer. “These deals vary from website to website and are usually offered for a specific period of time. So we log on to each website, find out what deal is available and then bring them to a single platform,” says Dave.
