With the Centre gearing up to announce the Delhi Master Plan 2021 in January next year, traders on Saturday constituted a task force to recommend to the government solutions on issues affecting them which they said should find a place in the development document.
The 'Traders Special Task Force on Master Plan 2021', which consists of trade leaders, architects and experts on DDA matters, will examine various aspects including regularisation of all business establishments that existed as on December 31, Confederation of All India Traders Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said.
All trade bodies were asked to submit their respective problems of their areas to the task force, he said.
The task force, headed by trade leader Murli Mani, will submit its report by December 25 and the CAIT will present it to Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy for government's consideration.
The other members of the task force are architect and town planner SC Jain, DDA expert AK Dev (both technical members), trade leaders Ramesh Khanna, Narender Madan, Suresh Bindal and Atul Bhargava.
Meanwhile, the CAIT also decided to form a human chain in front of the National Human Rights Commission headquarters on Sunday, on World Human Rights Day, as part of its ongoing anti-sealing agitations.
The 'Sealing Chetna Rath Yatra' entered its sixth day on Saturday travelling to the trans-Yamuna area. Trade leader Narendra Madan led the protest march.
