RAJENDRA KUMARI Gupta (36), wife of deputy jailer Anjani Kumar Gupta, was electrocuted in her house on the jail premises when she was cleaning the inverter on Wednesday.

At the time of the incident, the deputy jailer was in his office and the couple’s  three children, Kajal, Komal and Vishu, were at school.

Some local residents said Rajendra Kumari, after sending off her husband and children, became busy in domestic chores. When she was dusting the inverter kept at a height of three ft, it fell on her.

Rajendra Kumari received an electric shock and screamed for help but by the time the neighbours rescued her, she had become unconscious.

Some people rushed her to UHM hospital where she was declared as brought dead by the doctor on emergency duty. Notably, the deputy jailer had changed house barely a month ago. Earlier, he and his  family lived in the old colony on the same premises.

According to information,  Anjani Kumar Gupta is a native of Banda and he was posted in the city one and a half  years  ago.
