It seems that the Delhi Gurgaon Super Connectivity Limited (DGSCL), which maintains Gurgaon Expressway, is not paying any heed to the directive by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on opening a Facebook account to monitor road users’ complaints and queries directly.
The concessionaire company is yet to join the social networking site. In August this year, NHAI, which launched the Facebook account to get commuters' feedback, had asked all private concessionaires to open their accounts in the Facebook to address commuters’ queries and suggestions directly.
NHAI has claimed that it has published the name and contact details of private concessionaires on its Facebook page so that the highway users may know the jurisdiction of each concessionaire.
DGSCL says that it interacts with the public through its own website. “We will join the social networking site soon. However, we take our road users’ complaints posted on our website seriously,” said a spokesperson of DGSCL.
Gurgaon traffic police, which launched Facebook account this year, are getting good response from the public.
